Due to continued growth, we are seeking a creative and talented Senior Landscape Architect / Garden Designer to join their growing family. Strong conceptual design combined with a full command of the technical demands of the implementation process is essential to support their constructions teams working within their highly regarded Design & Build Studio.

Knowledge & Experience Required:

A minimum of 7 yearsâ?? experience in landscape architecture and/or garden design.

Chartership with the Landscape Institute or demonstrable experience to the same level.

Extensive experience with AutoCAD, Adobe Suite, SketchUp and a CGI/ rendering package including Lumion and/or Twin-motionâ??

Extensive UK plant knowledge â?? horticultural expertise is advantageous.

Strong written and verbal communications to a level appropriate for writing reports and to be able to articulate ideas and designs when presenting to UHNW clientele.

Strong conceptual design ability, firm knowledge of the luxury market in terms of materials and the ability to draft technical documentation and tender packages.

Demonstrable experience leading teams and coordinating with external technical consultants.

Strength in inspecting works through the construction phase and enforcing quality standards.

Responsibilities & Duties:

Team Management

Responsibility for meeting monthly targets on own projects, and on larger projects delegating tasks to team, and reviewing progress and compliance with brief.

 

Weekly Reviews with the senior team

·        Report performance, timeframes and progress against targets.

·        Define ongoing requirements for the project resources.

·        Define targets and deadlines.

 

Fee Proposals & Management

·        Define the brief, scope of services, deliverables and programme commitments for the design services.

·        Support the senior team in defining work-flows and resource requirements.

·        Manage performance against deliverables.

Design responsibilities

·        Understand and manage the adherence of designs to the QA standards on a CAD level in addition to the wider studio design procedures.

·        Develop quality standards within the studio.

·        Deliver the projects effectively from defining the client brief, concept design, design development, technical design and managing the projects through the construction phase.

·        Review all design work against brief and quality assurance standards.

·        Manage projects in relation to assessing suitability of site plans, audit estimates, project specifications, schedules and contracts.

·        Ensure compliance with Building Control and meet the relevant U.K or local construction standards

·        Assist in preparing planning applications.

·        Attend design team meetings as required.

·        Deliver presentations to clients, disseminate information and meeting minutes.

·        Negotiate with client, client representative, contract administrator, architect, project manager and understand hierarchical structure of the project and be able to identify the types of information appropriate for distribution to each separate entity.

·        Manage contract changes, instructions, changes in design, variations.

Implementation

·        Source quotations from suppliers for design and implementation services.

·        Co-ordinate work-shop drawings and ensure compliance with the overall scheme.

·        Manage the interfacing of elements of the design to ensure seamless designs.

·        Provide advice on and supervise project implementation with the construction teams.

·        Provide advice to team members on CDM regulations and assist in general administrative duties.

Post Construction

·        Assist with the marketing of projects with regards to selecting and refining images, liaising with publishers internally and externally
