Our client specializes in the delivery of luxurious residential Garden Design, Landscape Architecture, and Construction of bespoke projects in the super prime residential market. As a company renowned within the industry, they are expected to deliver faultless service standards to the most discerning of clientele.

The company was launched in 2015 and are undergoing a growth period requiring the strengthening and reinforcement of the Administrative Team with the appointment of a Quantity Surveyor to manage the valuations, variations and assist with the Estimating and Procurement processes.

As a Quantity Surveyor, the successful candidate will work with the Directors to minimise the costs and risk of construction projects and enhance value for money, whilst achieving the required legal standards and quality

Quantity Surveyor Role - Key Responsibilities

·        Prepare estimates and costs of the work and when the project is in progress, keep track of variations on multiple contracts that may affect costs and create reports to show profitability.

·        Be involved in all stages of the project from estimating and preconstruction costs, through monthly valuations, and issuing variation costs.

·        Liaising with the PQS to seek approval of variations and changes to the contract and tracking instructions for each project.

·        Managing the monthly valuation process and tracking payments whilst reporting to the Directors and Financial Controller.

·        Prepare and analyse project costs for tenders, such as materials, quantities time and labour.

·        Prepare tender and contract documentation, including bills of quantities with the landscape architects, Architects, Principal Contractor, PQS and construction teams.

·        Negotiate contracts and work schedules.

·        Allocate work to subcontractors and internal teams for projects.

·        Manage the cost expenditure of the projects with the Directors and Financial Controller and report any variances to cost plans.

·        Perform risk, value management and cost control during construction.

·        Advise on procurement strategies.

·        Identify, analyse and develop responses to commercial risks.

·        Provide advice on contractual claims and disputes.

·        Value completed work, oversee bills and arrange payments.

·        Maintain awareness of the different building contracts in current use and update knowledge as appropriate.

The ideal candidate for this position will provide Quantity Surveying and Estimating Services to plan and organize all aspects of the financial administration of the project related cost control and variation processes.

Strong organizational skills and time management along with a natural proficiency in written and verbal communication will be an integral part of the successful candidateâ??s skill set as well as being able to work calmly and efficiently as part of a small team in a busy, but the creative environment.

Hours of work will be from 8am until 5pm, 5 days per week.

Remuneration

£45-55,000 per annum depending on experience.
