Landscape Assistant

Our client is an established local design led garden design and landscaping company. The South West London Office operates across Surrey , Hampshire and South West London. An opportunity exists for a landscape assistant to become a member of their South West London and Surrey team.

Experience in the landscaping or building trade would be highly desirable. 2-3 years experience minimum prefered.

Specific functions will include:

General groundwork (excavation, ground preparation)
Material movements
Site tidiness

Able to use initiative and take instruction well, in order to help organise and assist with:

Paving (sub base preparation, laying and pointing)
Brick and block work (small walls)
Decking (sub frames structures and laying of deck boards)
Fencing (panel and feather board construction)
Timber features (pergolas etc)
Paths and edging
Turf laying
Planting / horticulture techniques

Other duties will be assigned by the site foreman as required on each project. Candidates should be those who are genuinely interested and enthusiastic about landscaping and are able to organise and manage their work efficiently. You will work with a supervisor to ensure that work is completed to a high standard until skills are acquired to enable you to undertake your own landscaping tasks.

The successful candidate is likely to be enthusiastic, well presented, flexible, punctual, reliable and able to show initiative. Must be physically fit and able to do manual labour. You should be willing and able to travel to site by your own means.
