Our Client provide a wide range of grounds care, cleaning and maintenance services. They work in both public and private sectors and pride themselves in their quality service.

You will be responsible for working within the team to complete Grounds Maintenance works in accordance with contract specifications, customer requirements and their Quality, Health and Safety and Environmental procedures, statutory requirements and industry best practice.

The post is based at their Crawley Depot but you will be required to travel to carry out your day to day duties. You will have access to a company van and all equipment required to carry out all tasks. Any additional training required to enable this role to be performed will be provided at the companyâ??s expense.

In the Surrey region, they currently have a fleet of 9 vans and 13 operatives. We are a growing franchise, so there is a lot of opportunity for growth and promotion for the right person.

Responsibilities of the Grounds Maintenance Operative:

  • Delivering a high quality of workmanship covering all aspects of Grounds Maintenance on sites (Grass Cutting, Hedge Cutting, Weed Control, Pruning, Litter collection etc).
  • Provide a responsive and professional service to customers, dealing promptly with issues arising and escalating immediately.
  • Carry out all works in accordance with business Health, Safety & Environmental policies & procedures; as well as contract-specific plans, Job Sheets, Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
  • Proactively report any deficiencies in plant, equipment or damaged infrastructure.
  • Proactively participate in Near Miss and accident reporting to promote continuous improvement in health and safety performance and help to pre-empt the circumstances and practices under which injuries might be sustained in future.
  • Ensure that any unsatisfactory performance identified is immediately corrected to meet expected standards and requirements.
  • Carry out all duties in a manner and style that reflects the businesses values and respects all colleagues and customers.

Requirements to be a Grounds MaintenanceTeam Leader:

  • Good working knowledge of Grounds Maintenance and industry experience or a strong interest and willingness to learn.
  • Completing all Paperwork
  • Proven experience of working within a contracting environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing at all levels.
  • Effective smartphone user.
  • Enthusiasm and drive to develop a career in the horticultural industry.
  • Have a clean driving licence, preferably with part B & E (trailer licence) desirable.
  • PA1 and PA6 qualification preferred.
