Our client is a small garden maintenance company based on a prestigious estate near Marble Arch in central London, W2.

This is a new position being opened up at the company, in order to share management tasks between the existing Manager and this new position of Working Garden Estate Manager.

This will provide the opportunity for both the existing Manager and new Working Garden Estate Manager to divide their time between managing and gardening.

The Working Garden Estate Manager will have overall responsibility for managing our

small team, ensuring they work in a supported and safe environment, managing and implementing garden maintenance tasks ensuring that all gardens are maintained to a high standard, and contributing towards the smooth running of the of the organisation along with the Manager and Director.

Your range of tasks will include organising weekly & seasonal rotas, planting, managing pests and diseases, record keeping, purchasing and ensuring all areas are maintained to a high standard.

You will carry out regular checks and assessments for tool & machinery maintenance, health & safety and security and liaise with the Manager & Director, to ensure jobs are performed as and when they are required.

You will be expected to understand all aspects of gardening services and management and guide the gardening team to enable them to confidently deal with all aspects of their roles.

Over the first phase of your employment, you will be trained in the companies management tasks by the current Manager and over time will take on responsibility for these tasks from the Manager. 

Essential

  • Excellent plant knowledge
  • PA1 & PA6 Spraying certificate
  • Experience in using garden machinery
  • Clean Driving Licence
  • Min 2 yrs garden supervisory or management experience
  • Excellent interpersonal & organisational skills
  • Leadership and ability to drive & develop a team
  • Friendly, approachable & flexible
