Maintenance Foreman 43441

Location : North London & Various
Salary : 27-30k
Vacancy type : Permanent
Vacancy ID : 43441

Our client is a small Landscaping company covering London, Surrey and Middlesex. Prodominatly Egham and Newbury initially. They are based near Uxbridge.

Their core business is hard and soft landscaping with a small division covering the Grounds Maintenance of their completed projects.

They are currently seeking a Maintenance Foreman (Fulltime) to head up a small team and help to grow the business. This is an exciting opportunity because there is good scope to drastically increase the maintence business within an 18 month period if the right person joins the team. So although the role is a working foreman role you would be working towards being off the tools very quickly (besides in emergency scenarios to cover sickness etc).

You will be responsible for Day to Day site management of all Maintenance tasks so you will need to have high levels of motivation and the ability to prioritise with ease whilst ensuring customer service and the quality of the maintenance work remains high at all times. You will also need:

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate at all levels whether it be with your team, suppliers, local authority and course with clients.
  • 3-5 years Grounds Maintenance experience.
  • Full UK/EU Drivers Licence.
  • Good Plant based knowledge (Essential).
  • Horticultural qualification (Desirable).
  • Managing workloads effectively, planning ahead.
  • Good eye for detail.
  • To ensure that the vehicles and machinery (including mobile phones) you are using are in good working order and being properly used and maintained.
  • To be able to put into practice Health & Safety guidance.
  • To be able to lead tools box talks.

You will rarely be expected to go to the yard. Some of their Residential sites are large enough to have storage on site so tools/machinery can be moved directly from job to job. The company are currently landscaping a large Retirement Village.

Our client is hoping to find the ideal candidate with a start date in mind of early March, potentially Mid-February.

Interviews will be held on Zoom in the first instance.

This is a fantastic chance to join a company with an extremely healthy order book and plans for expansion. You will be working closely with the director but must be able to work under your own initiave and successfully manage a team of gardeners. If this sounds like you do not hesitate to get in touch as this role will go quickly.
