Our client delivering major multi-phase landscape installations to smaller, â??high endâ?? domestic installations and they are looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join their team.

Location:

Predominantly office based, but will need to attend meetings and carry out site visits, as and when required/necessary.

Key Tasks:

  • Assisting the Senior Quantity Surveyor in the day to day running of the live contracts/projects.
  • Assisting the Estimator in pricing new works, including the understanding of the tender documentation and/or requirements, site visits, labour and material costs and availability, as and when necessary/required.
  • Production of enquiry packages, including bills of quantities/scope of works, to enable the procurement/agreement of the services of subcontractors and/or suppliers to work on all projects.
  • Measure and value the works on-site, including variations, and subsequently prepare and submit Applications for Payment, Valuations and/or Invoices, whichever is applicable, across all projects, on a monthly basis.
  • Measure and value works carried out on-site by subcontractors and/or suppliers, for authorization for payment by the Senior Quantity Surveyor, on a monthly basis.
  • Overall commercial responsibility for the accurate cost variation and cash flow of projects from procurement through to final account settlement., including the maintaining of cost control documents, Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR) document and Charge Out Sheet.
  • Communication with directors and managers of all divisions
  • Liaise with customers, clients & suppliers
  • Assist with organising orders & deliveries
  • Assist with day to day site administration requirements
  • To carry out such further tasks that may be delegated by manager/director

Qualifications required:

  • Must hold UK Driving License
  • Must hold current CSCS Card
  • HNC/HND Quantity Surveying
  • RICS accredited undergraduate or postgraduate Quantity Surveying Degree or similar

Experience and knowledge:

  • A good understanding/knowledge of construction industry is essential, and Landscaping knowledge is preferable.
  • Experience of working within a Quantity Surveying/Estimating team is desirable.

Attitude and skills:

  • Mathematically numerate
  • Competent in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook etc, with a knowledge of CAD desirable.
  • Deadline driven
  • Be able to read/understand drawings & specifications
  • Must be flexible in their approach i.e. working hours
  • Highly organised and professional in approach with a keen eye for detail
  • Able to work under own initiative
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with all levels both internally and externally
  • Able to work calmly under pressure
  • Hard working and reliable
  • Strong communication skills
