This role involves varied shift patterns including working at weekends and evenings. There is a four week rota and each week here is a different shift pattern. The role is 75% Cleansing and 25% Horticulture.

You will report into the Contracts Manager

Your aim is to carry out work in a professional and productive manner, exceeding expectations of customers and manager.

General Duties and Responsibilities

Customer Care:
To create a positive impression with our customers and work to exceed their expectations, presenting a polite and responsible attitude at all times. To understand what is important to the customer and to exceed their expectations
Customer Contact:
To communicate with customers politely and professionally and accurately report customer comments to managers.
Customer Promotion:
To understand what the company does, promote the company wherever possible and feed back potential leads from sites and local press.
Corporate Image:
To wear the correct corporate clothing and ensure vehicles and machinery are professionally presented and that sites are kept clean and tidy.

Health & Safety


To read, understand and work to the companyâ??s Health & Safety Policy and use correct PPE: high-viz vest, ear defenders, gloves etc. To ensure that any plant/equipment is used safely and only after suitable training has been given. To understand and work to risk assessments and COSHH assessments and to report accidents and near misses. To report any potential health & safety issues to your manger/supervisor or foreman.

To be reliable in your attendance at work and to follow company rules and procedures if absent from work for any reason.

To be efficient and organised, working to company systems: eg job sheets, quality completion sheets, time sheets and invoices.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities
â?¢ Day to day management of both the cleansing and horticultural activities.
â?¢ Ensure daily inspections are carried out and submitted.
â?¢ Manage and deliver the staff rota on a monthly basis
â?¢ Day to day care and maintenance of machinery
â?¢ Carry out specific projects as directed
â?¢ To undertake any appropriate task reasonably requested by the Customer or Manager
â?¢ To be an effective assistant to your line Manager
â?¢ To develop, delegate and monitor staff under your control
â?¢ To communicate effectively to client and ensure all requirements are met
â?¢ Be financially responsible for your contract
â?¢ Purchase ordering of materials
â?¢ Ensure all documentation is up to date and displayed where required
â?¢ To plan and implement lawn care program
â?¢ Ensure the welfare of staff is maintained
â?¢ Completing timesheets
â?¢ Problem solving â?? ensuring solutions to problems are resolved
â?¢ Supervising any sub-contractors and ensuring all works are completed to a high standard
â?¢ Help to build the community ethic of the park, by getting to know the park users and the large amount of tourists using the park as an event space.
â?¢ Attend local community meetings when asked and be aware of any issues or worries the local community has about the park, pass this information onto the customer.
â?¢ Build a relationship with all the neighbouring properties of the park, the management and the ground staff.
â?¢ Deal with street performers and illegal traders who try to use the park, and therefore break park regulations.
â?¢ Drive the ecological and environmental ethos of the parks, through naturalistic planting and maintenance regime. Endeavour to reduce use of chemicals for grounds maintenance to zero.
