Experienced Landscape Maintenance Operations Manager required to join an industry defining landscape design, build and maintenance company.

 

You will be responsible for the overall delivery of the companyâ??s Maintenance and Soft Landscaping Services and will collaborate with the Divisional heads within the Design & Construction Divisions on shared projects reporting into Directors.

The successful applicant will plan and manage the delivery of maintenance contracts across West London and Surrey, including managing the seasonal requirements for replanting, planning future works and further rejuvenating areas of gardens for clients.

Requirements:

·         An extensive plant knowledge is required to be able to design schemes and source stock for seasonal planting changes on projects.

·         The successful candidate will be numerate and be able to cost various landscape operations and determine time allowances for the delivery of operations within the division.

·         The successful candidate will be a central and core part of the Senior Team of the business and will be expected to be self-motivated and understand the independence and responsibility which is commensurate with the position.

·         You will be a natural problem solver and be gifted at liaising comfortably with clients, sub-contractors and suppliers.

·         You will play a significant part in the delivery of our Quality Assurance systems and drive the delivery of the companyâ??s standards with ISO 9001 and 14001.

·         Be responsible for driving health and safety within the division, and ensuring that all staff qualifications are kept up to date.

·         Ensure staff training opportunities are in place and delivered including one to one training as required.

 Person Specification

·         Have extensive practical experience in horticulture and the delivery of maintenance projects to a faultless standard.

·         Be extremely organised and able to work effectively under pressure.

·         Be capable of adapting maintenance regimes according to seasonal requirements.

·         Have a diverse and detailed plant knowledge.

·         Have a broad understanding of plant physiology and soil science.

·         Knowledge and understanding of plant P&D and treatment options.

·         Detailed knowledge of plant biological requirements, pruning times and techniques and plant management and maintenance techniques.

·         Experience managing multiple teams in multiple locations.

·         Have experience in a similar role and a minimum of 10 years in a horticultural field.

·         Excellent and effective communication skills with the ability to closely supervise staff effectively and liaise with clients on a one to one basis.

·         Be able to work independently and also as part of a larger team.

·         Computer literacy in word and excel. Project preferable.

·         Be numerate and able to work toward pricing works and maintenance contracts and ordering materials required to delivery projects.

·         Full, clean driving license

·         CSCS Card

·         First Aid at Work

·         SMSTS (Site Manager Safety Training Scheme) qualification or similar relevant experience.
